The White Buffalo Racing Story

White Buffalo Racing is made up of two principal partners: Steve Trupp and Michael Hammonds. We started White Buffalo Racing when my brother, Steve, crashed his bike in practice in turn 4 of Willow Springs. We started on the rebuild to get the bike back to a race able state, but found that the parts were getting expensive and we found only a few places that were willing to give a price break. That is when we decided to make a business based on the principle of high quality and low prices. We also wanted to go directly to the manufacturer so we can know what is happening with their products directly.

The name was derived from a dream I had one night when I was 11 years old. I was driving a 1940 Ford pick-up down a dusty road towards some low rolling hills. I stopped at an Airstream trailer where a tall Lakota man stood waving at me. He asked me to come inside and have a seat. I proceeded to sit down at the kitchen table and he motioned towards the window. Outside, I saw a man riding a horse towards a herd of Bison. The Lakota man told me that my spirit guide was there in that herd. As the man on the horse neared the herd they parted like a wake from a ship. Standing in the center of the opening stood a solitary white buffalo. After that dream I started to learn as much about the legend of the white buffalo as I could. I even found that there are several white buffalo alive on farms today. When I decided to make my business I just had to name it White Buffalo Racing.

Mike Hammonds took several semesters of general education courses at the Antelope Valley College after high school. When he became interested in motorcycles, Mike, decided to get into racing. After his brother crashed in April of 2001 at Willow Springs he decided to rebuild the bike. Finding that the prices of replacement parts too high he decided to make a business based on the principle of high quality with low prices and White Buffalo Racing was born. He is interested in motorcycles and cars, outdoor sports and  made this web site.  He owns  a 2000 Aprilia Mille and races a GSXR600 in the Willow Springs Motorcycle Club in the expert class.
